Return to 2020-2021 "Pre-Season" League - Boys

The Fall Divisional League is for players in grades 3-8. It is the biggest 4CITY program and a great way for both new and experienced boys and girls to play fun and competitive basketball for all skill sets.

Due to COVID-19, county and state health orders currently prohibit playing actual basketball (i.e. no defense allowed, even with a mask). Most local youth leagues have already cancelled their seasons. However, we are still hoping to offer a modified version of our Divisional Leagues starting in the early spring, in cooperation with all county and state safety guidelines (which could include outdoor games, playing with masks, no fans, etc.). We will provide details when we have them. Since space is likely to be limited, please note that participants in our "Pre-Season" League (details below) will receive priority in any Divisional League we offer in the spring.

In the meantime, we know kids are eager for some basketball! And parents are eager for the physical and social benefits of getting back to sports. With that in mind, we are offering the following mostly-online, "Pre-Season" version of our normal divisional league programs starting the first week of December: 10 weeks of twice-weekly online basketball workouts with professional coaches; plus optional in-person (outdoor at parks) practices on Saturdays with small teams formed by school/age/gender.

Online practices will run twice a week, with the specific days TBD based on team selection, for the following weeks:

  • November 30th
  • December 7th
  • December 14th
  • January 4th
  • January 11th
  • January 18th
  • January 25th
  • February 1st
  • February 8th
  • February 15th

Players will be assigned to teams (8-12 players) in each of our divisions: 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th, with separate leagues for boys and girls. Each team will have a parent head coach and assistant coach, plus a professional "master coach" for their age group.

Teams will have two virtual practices during the week (late afternoon or early evening). Virtual practices will involve fitness and skills training by professional coaches from organizations like Esface, KOPA, and local high schools. Plus there will be time for social interactions with teammates and parent coaches, as kids nurture their passion for basketball.

On Saturdays, teams will hold optional socially-distanced practices at a local park or outdoor school court, weather permitting. Only coaches and players will be allowed to remain at the court during practice, and all current social distancing measures will be followed (see safety rules).

Players will also have access to video workouts and skill-builders they can complete on days when they don't have practice, thanks to our partnerships with Curious, Breakthrough Basketball and eCoach. League commissioners will provide a suggested workout plan for off days to keep kids fit and exercising.

All players registered for this program will receive a 4CITY basketball, 4CITY shirt and 4CITY mask included with the fee.
